On August 3, 2024, four days shy of her 70th birthday, I lost my mom, Tran Tu Cross, to brain cancer.
She is the inspiration behind my journey to the Bank of America Chicago Marathon 2025, where I will be running on Team Determi Nation to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

I’m participating in the Bank of American Chicago Marathon to inspire hope for those facing cancer and raising money to help end cancer as we know it, for everyone. The funds I’m raising will sustain critical research and provide services for people trying to cope with their cancer experience. After losing my mom, and my grandma just a few years prior, I am determined to join the fight against cancer.
